Summer has come to an abrupt end, so I thought I would sneak in a few snaps taken on my summer holiday down in Devon, and share some of the great things about autumn that we have to look forward to. It’s not all doom and gloom, even if it sometimes feels it.
It’s nice isn’t it, spending time with your family in the new family home, feeling comfortable and relaxed, the stresses of daily life miles away. That week away really felt like a holiday, and I needed it. It was also beautiful weather all week, and walking around the village in linen trousers and a sports bra was NBD.
It was comfy, I was the perfect temperature for that early evening walk, and most importantly, the bra is pink. I don’t even mind that it squeezes my lil bit of chub, because I’m quite fond of that layer actually.
Looking at these photos, I’m thinking I should do a little post soon about the tattoos I’ve collected in more recent months. There are a few you might not know about.

And now, here’s a list of things you can look forward to this autumn:
• crisp mornings and crisp leaves
• roast dinners, toad in the hole, stew, soup – all the comforting, warm food.
• cosy candlelit evenings
• log fires and marshmallows
• cocktails in a dimly lit bar (like The Milk Thistle in Bristol)
• baking on a miserable day
• layering up in warm coats and scarves and hats
• bonfire night and fireworks
• seeing your breath
• wrapping cold hands around a hot cup
• the changing colours and beautiful light
• snuggling under blankets and duvets
• the scent of mulled wine and the lead up to Christmas (sorry to mention that so early)
What are your favourite things about autumn?
