Summer festival survival kits with Kiehl’s

21 April 2015

This post contains gifted items.

Yay – festival season is nearly upon us! If you’re a long-time reader of my blog you’ll know that I am fond of a festival, and summer doesn’t quite feel complete without one. I’ve blogged about what I take to a festival before, but this year I’m heading to Primavera Sound, so my packing list is a little different.

Primavera Sound festival is held in Barcelona, so there’s none of that camping malarky to contend with. What I will have though (hopefully..) is lots of gorgeous sunshine, so looking after my skin is a must.

Luckily I have this set designed by Zara Martin for Kiehl’s (gifted), and it’s in a see-through bag – perfect for taking through airport security.

Inside the Kiehl’s summer festival survival kit

• Skin Rescuer – to protect the skin against external stresses
• Ultra Facial Cleanser – to dissolve oil, dirt and debris without over-drying
• Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50 – to protect against UVA & UVB rays
• Micro Blur Skin Perfector – to blur & visibly transform the look of skin
• Creme de Corps – to moisturise, sooth & hydrate my body
• Midnight Recovery Concentrate – to create a fresher & more radiant appearance by morning

With all the excitement, music, and maybe a few drinks, it’s easy to forget to look after yourself and your skin. However, if you make sure you look after it while you’re there, you’ll come back looking fresher than you feel.

Festival beauty tips

• Always carry suncream, lip balm and water – you don’t want to fry.
• Paint your nails to hide any of that festival grime.
• Everyone’s favourite – dry shampoo. Spray through the roots and rub in for a fresh look.
• Wear a headscarf if you need to hide any roots too dirty for dry shampoo.
• Keep make-up simple, and to a minimum. You don’t want to pack loads, and you’ll probably just sweat it off anyway.
• At the end of the day, make sure you fully remove any make up and dirt. Usually this would be with a facewipe at a festival – which is fine – but if you have the option of facewash and lukewarm water, use that.

There are a few other things which will be in my festival bag this year too..

Other festival essentials

• Camera (gifted) – this super cute Fujifilm Instax will be coming along to capture special moments.
• Headphones – during the flight, some good headphones are a must so that I can listen to the bands I’ll be going to see, and to block out any noise when I want to sleep on the way home.
• Sandals – platforms will add a bit of height, so I might actually be able to see the stage.
• Sunglasses – fun sunglasses to protect my eyes, and to make me look super cool…
• Shorts – cut-offs go with everything. Perfect addition.
• Bag (gifted) – a good sized day bag like this tote designed by Zara Martin is essential.
