It is a tradition in our household for me to bake a silly amount of biscuits to give to my grannies, aunts, uncles, cousins and anyone else I don’t buy gifts for.
It’s been so useful having Doug help me this year, and we made ginger oat biscuits and sesame seed biscuits a few days before. On Christmas Eve I decided to bake my Granny’s gingerbread recipe and experiment with some Earl Grey shortbread.
I donned my new dress from Savana Vintage & Handmade (more on that below), and popped on a pinny. With my hair up and my cat-eye glasses from London Retro, Doug said I looked like a 50s housewife – perfect.
I love baking and making a mess, I find it so soothing and satisfying to watch the ingredients come together to make something delicious. It’s even better when accompanied by a cat or two, Doug, and a big ol’ cup of tea.

We must take a moment to appreciate this gorgeous dress made by Savana, out of vintage fabric. She makes some gorgeous things in classic shapes, I especially love this tropical looking playsuit. What’s more, they’re all really reasonably priced!
I love how I feel in this dress – it’s just so pretty and ladylike! I love the muted colours, making it really easy to wear. And it fits like an absolute dream!
