A perfect birthday at Ashton Court Estate, with a picnic hamper from Joules

15 May 2014

IT’S MY BIRTHDAAAAY! So late this morning, Doug and I filled this gorgeous hamper kindly sent to me from Joules, and went on a picnic adventure.

I was absolutely stunned when I opened the hamper to find everything I could possibly need for a birthday picnic – plates, cutlery, glasses, napkins, and even a bottle opener and salt & pepper shakers – all tucked neatly into the beautiful lining, which matches my Joules dress very nicely (although it was rather too warm to wear that today).

We headed up to our favourite picnic spot (as I’m sure you’re all aware of by now) – Ashton Court Estate. Doug was a gentleman and hauled our hamper of goodies all the way.

The perfect spot was found beneath a huge oak tree, and we settled down to tuck in to Prosecco, cheese, crackers and grapes. We lay around for hours, soaking up the sunshine and opening presents, before heading home (stopping for an ice cream on the way, of course).

It’s been the most perfect day so far.
